In 1991, the organisation was born as a youth club with limited resources but a strong will to create a positive impact. Over the years, PYSO has grown and achieved a popular identity through various initiatives and community support.
PYSO has successfully organized three eye camps in 1996, 1997, and 2001, performing 170 cataract surgeries. In 1997-98, we helped two families receive justice and financial aid from the district administration after the loss of their family heads.
Following the Super Cyclone, PYSO provided relief in multiple areas by distributing food, clothes, and seeds, and helping 600 families restore their betel vines, their primary livelihood. Through funds from ISNRMPO, CARE, and Oxfam India Trust, we revived these families' means of income.
We created village assets by digging ponds and constructing roads in 20 villages through food-for-work programs. In 2000, we established a public library, and in 2002, an innovative school. Over 150 self-help groups have been promoted in Kakatpur and Astrang Blocks.
PYSO organized the first-ever book fair in Kakatpur, a rural area, and established AGADHU KAMALA HOSPITAL (charitable) in our campus, offering healthcare services to the community.
